The SUA serves multiple purposes:

  • Promote the welfare of the games of baseball and softball by uniformly interpreting and administrating the rules of those games as set forth by the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association
  • Promote and maintain the highest degree of baseball and softball officiating by following a uniform set of mechanics.
  • Preserve the traditions, foster ideals, advance interest, and improve the quality and prestige of baseball and softball umpires through continuous instruction via the classroom and on field experience.
  • Develop a spirit of friendship and maintain a high standard of ethics among umpires.
  • Inside this site, members will find links to the member and school directories, as well as information regarding mechanics and association business.
